Biography
Raven Duchess affectionately known as the songbird of Zimbabwe is a Jazz fusion/ African folk music singer/songwriter ,muti-instrumentalist and producer. Her jazzy voice and fusion of Zimbabwean folk music captures the audience’s attention as she expresses emotional alchemy .
In 2024, Raven was selected in Durban South Africa under the Music Imbizo Channel O music business Workshop as one of the panel discussion delegates.
From performances at festivals like Afrofest Toronto Canada, Jam n’Jazz festival Bronkhorstspruit South Africa, The Urban Music People(UMP) festival Malawi, Nelson Mandela‘s first residence the Sanctuary Mandela in Johannesburg South Africa, Harare International festival Of The Arts (HIFA) Zimbabwe, The Music Imbizo Film and Music festival Durban South Africa to Bayimba International Arts festival in Uganda. Raven has collaborated with artists from Kenya, Poland, Malawi, Uganda, South Africa, Spain, Cuba, United States of America, Argentina, Switzerland, Britain, Germany and some of the best in Zimbabwe.
Raven Duchess was one of the female musicians selected to mentor female musicians with disabilities under the Povo Afrika, Musicable project which was sponsored by Music in Africa and Sound Connects in 2023.

Raven is passionate about entertaining the audience and enlightening them on among other issues ; how taking care of mental health is vital . Depression is a silent killer that can affect people regardless of race, gender or social class .
